IPM or Integrated Pest Management is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest managment that relies on a combination of common sense practices. IPM programs use current comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment, this information in combination with available pest control methods is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means and with the least possible hazard to people, property and the environment.

MONITORING: Regular observation is the corner stone of IPM. observation is broken into 2 steps. First, inspection and second, identification. Pest identifcation is critical to a successful IPM program.	SANITATION: Good sanitation = Pest Management because it limits the resources pests need to survive and reproduce.
EXCLUSION: Ensuring all entry points are well sealed, cracks and crevices corked and infested shipments are isolated.	IDENTIFICATION: Each pest has it's own unique life cycle. Knowing your pest is the most important phase in establishing long term control.
